Behind the 9: Mike Toomey

Years ago, Supervising Producer Ross McAbee found an old photo of Col. Robert McCormick - the once owner of the Chicago Tribune, and the creator of the World's Greatest Newspaper moniker (for which WGN is named). Ross realized that McCormick looked just like Mike Toomey, the announcer for the 9 a.m. show on the WGN Morning News. So he got an old-timey car from the Volo Auto Museum, an old suit, a straw hat, and Photographer Terry Bates, and they brought Col. McCormick back to life. I followed along to capture their day.
